About Gourmet Music & Matt Ball
Matt is in high demand as a session musician working with Elbow - performing on their 2008 Mercury Album of the year ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ and performing live with Atomic Kitten, Candi Staton, Deniece Williams, Gloria Gaynor and with Motown and soul legends Ben. E. King, Percy Sledge, Martha Reeves, Jimmy Ruffin, Jean Knight, Billy Paul, Freda Payne, Peabo Bryson, The Temptations Review and The New Stylistics. Matt has also worked with Motown songwriters Ashford & Simpson and Lamont Dozier.
Matt has worked on various TV and film projects including the movie adaptation of Brideshead Revisited (2008), for which he created the Brideshead Ballroom Stompers. Having worked in big bands and theatre shows including the Glenn Miller Orchestra (UK), Pasadena Roof Orchestra, New Squadraniers, Memphis Belle Orchestra and John Miller and his Orchestra, Matt invited the best of these musicians to be part of the band for the Brideshead Ballroom Stompers.
Matt has worked with many of the UK's top jazz musicians performing at jazz venues and jazz festivals such as Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express, Manchester jazz festival, Scarborough jazz festival, Wigan international jazz festival, Hull jazz festival, Burton Agnes's jazz festival, Southport international jazz festival and Upton jazz festival. Gourmet Jazz uses the best of the jazz musicians Matt has worked with.
